Scheduled Event 5

Chocobo Parade

Everyone loves to show off their bird! Display those colorful feathers and elegant barding on March 13th, when the Pathfinders Free Company of Malboro presents its first Chocobo Parade!

Chocobos may be ridden or on foot. If you don’t have a chocobo yet, you are still welcome to join us as we wind through the roads and towns of Eorzea for fun and role-play.

The parade route starts in Vesper Bay in Western Thanalan at 3 pm PST/5 pm CST/6 pm EST. We will travel through Horizon, then over the pass to Central Thanalan and Black Brush Station. From there, we move onward to Eastern Thanalan, through Camp Drybone, and across the bridge to the South Shroud and Lake Tranquil. Then we will head north, turning left at the tavern at Buscarron’s Druthers. Then it’s on to the Central Shroud, where we will tour the famous Chocobo stables at Bentbranch. The parade ends at the Blue Badger Gate of New Gridania, but the event continues in the Carline Canopy, with a luncheon artfully prepared by our guild Culinarians.

Along the way, we may pause for random FATEs and battles, so bring your weapons. And remember — this a role-play event!

This event is open to the public so feel free to join in whether you are a Pathfinder or not!

Limerick Contest

There was a young man from the shroud,
Whose sneeze was uncommonly loud.

Everyone loves a limerick!  And the Pathfinders Free Company is dedicated to exploring the creative potential of Eorzea.  And so....

The honks from his nose
Would scare chocobos,

We are holding a Limerick contest!  Please Post your entries as comments to this blog post.

And so they're no longer allowed!

Entries should have something to do with Eorzea, MMORPGs or gaming in general.  Only members of the Pathfinders Free Company may enter.  Entries will close on February 28th at 5 Pm CST/ 6 Pm EST, and winner will be selected by the officers of the Free Company.  Five winning entries will be announced on March 1st in this blog, and reprinted in a separate post.

Prizes? Of course we have prizes!!  The five winning limericks will be shouted at various locations throughout Eorzea, unless they are judged not to comply with TOS.  We'll just keep the naughty ones to ourselves. Winners will also receive:

First place: 25 HQ ingots of Electrum
Second place: 25 HQ ingots of Mythril
Third - Fifth places: 25 HQ ingots of Silver

Hand crafted by our talented Free Company crafters!

Garden Raffle!

Did you notice that our new house has a garden?  Our first crop has been harvested, and we have decided to distribute the produce through a raffle.  There will be 6 drawings, with each winner receiving a lovely mixture or fruits and vegetables.

Here are the rules:

  • To purchase a ticket, Send 50 gil by Moogle mail to our headmistress, Elysande Greystar. Please include the text "garden raffle" in the note.  The proceeds will be added to the company chest for the benefit of all Pathfinders.
  • Only one entry per person, please!  You may send more gil, but it only buys you one ticket.  This gives everyone an equal chance.
  • The drawing will be held on February 21st at 5 pm CST/6 pm EST.  Winners will receive their prizes by Moogle mail.  Winners' names and prizes will be posted on this blog.

Fresh produce is good for you!
You can use it to prepare meals, or sell it for a little extra gil.  Here's your chance to get a nice shopping cart full of fruits and veggies, while helping out your free company!

Pathfinders Update #1

It's been a great start here for the Pathfinders!  So much has happened, and where do I begin?

We're already company rank 6!

The gates to your chosen path await!

We hit rank 6 after just a couple short weeks, and have purchased our own medium-sized manor!  Let the decorating commence!

Scheduled events!

This past Friday and Saturday marked the Pathfinders first round of scheduled events.  Here's the recap:

Dungeon Crawl Friday:

Our scheduled dungeon runs resulted in an opportunity for a thorough explanation of the ins and outs of the Stone Vigil, and a lesson in tanking for one of our up and coming paladins, Atis Unleet.  A special thanks to officer Malivon Luminix for teaching Atis and Valkyr the intricacies of this dungeon.

The night's events also resulted in the defeat of Garuda EX, something I've been working on for a few weeks now.  Thanks to officers Malivon and Kotori Shirakawa for lending me their mastery of this trial so that I may have finally learned it.

Role play saturday:

Our first scheduled role play event turned out quite well!  Over the course of more than two hours, Astania Rykros, Kraio Wolfhart and Project Xion flexed their creative muscles and formed the basis of each of their Eorzean personas as they guided the anxious and talkative merchant T'ahna from Gridania to Revanent's  Toll.

Over all the turnout for these events was a bit small, but we all still had a great time.  We have more ideas for scheduled events coming soon, with plans to have at least one event per week, so all Pathfinders and non-Pathfinders are encouraged to keep checking the blog for future updates.

We'll see you all in Eorzea!
